POEM #21 FOR POEM A DAY FOR 2020

This is my first attempt at a poem that takes up more than one page . The poem is only two pages but I ended up with two extra pages somehow. Oh well, you can see the whole yellow painting at least and then you can make up your own poem on the blank white page if you like :)

poem #22 for poem a day for 2020

This poem pokes fun at at few things I notice in myself. The seductive idea of soul mates, my own struggle to see and be seen accurately, a touch of self pity.

POEM #23 FOR POEM A DAY FOR 2020

Cruising through 2007 poems today, I got a kick out of this one.

POEM #24 FOR POEM A DAY FOR 2020

I came across this poem today from  2006. It is not quite 20 years later since I wrote this poem but it remains true. My children are not covered in bathtub bubbles anymore but I am that mom who remembers when they were and still loves them!

POEM #25 FOR POEM A DAY FOR 2020

Feelings can be so messy!

POEM #26 FOR POEM A DAY FOR 2020

No clever observations about this poem except to notice that I have had this experience numerous times

POEM #27 FOR POEM A DAY FOR 2020

This poem must have been written not long after Hannah was born. It made me say awwww! That's so sweet.

POEM #28 FOR POEM A DAY FOR 2020

Okay, so sometimes the romantic ones are fun too.

POEM #29 FOR POEM A DAY FOR 2020

I notice that wave and water imagery often find their way into my poetry.

POEM #30 FOR POEM A DAY FOR 2020

Ever felt like this?

POEM #31 FOR POEM A DAY FOR 2020

I discovered this poem in a journal from way back in 1999. Turns out that it might still be relevant as I try to shake off the sleepiness of winter.

POEM #32 FOR POEM A DAY FOR 2020

Sometimes there are bright clear moments in love. This poem was one such experience.

POEM #33 FOR POEM A DAY FOR 2020

This poem reflects a moment of existential gratitude from the summer of 2016. Hang in there past the first few lines in case you feel awkward about the word death. It's really quite optimistic. P.S. this poem is only 2 pages but I ended up with 2 extra again. Technology!

POEM #34 FOR POEM A DAY FOR 2020

There is a element of humor in the fragility of this poem. If I didn't laugh, I would cry?

POEM #35 FOR POEM A DAY FOR 2020

It was a snow day today which made me think of this poem I wrote in December 2019.

POEM #36 FOR POEM A DAY FOR 2020

Sometimes in life the blocked creative bursts forth and can be held back no longer!

POEM #37 FOR POEM A DAY FOR 2020

This poem I wrote in memory of watching a man I was completely in love with fly away. Oh broken hearts are heavy.

POEM #38 FOR POEM A DAY FOR 2020

This poem arose organically from recent weeks as I have been active on social media. It is a playful poking of fun at myself as well as a reminder to chill out when it comes to too much technology.

Note: The most effective format for posting single page poems seems to be this one - a photo rather than a file that uploads. So I will stick to this unless the poem is two pages or I find another better way. Thank you for being here.

POEM #39 FOR POEM A DAY FOR 2020

This was a savoured moment of soft romance just prior to having to face real life again.

POEM #40 FOR POEM A DAY FOR 2020

I notice that any relationship is rarely completely all good or all bad.
