POEM #80 FOR POEM A DAY FOR 2020

I appreciate remembering not to take someone else's drama personally. 

I am forever grateful to live in a beautiful place and for spring starting so early!! Yay flowers!

This poem came from being in touch with the vulnerable nature of love - that it is not such a light and fluffy thing sometimes and, though enjoyable, terrifying too. 

I was kinda in the mood for no stress, not serious, just light and fun!!

This is another of my poems from 2000 around the topic of parenting. This was right before my daughter was born and I was realizing  what a huge thing it is to become a parent. It has definitely been humbling!

I really felt this way today - like I just needed to curl up tight, take a rest, and integrate before returning to the world 

There are many tipping points and transformations along the way. I wonder where we are headed next?

I wrote this poem back in November of 2019 - not that long ago. Yet, it seems to have taken on extra meaning in the past few weeks! 

Even worse that just having a broken heart is being criticized on top of that - either from internal or external voices. This poem was about seeing my own innocence. 

Somewhere along the way I realized that menopause is an amazing transformation and has given me many things to celebrate. Here is to all the powerful menopausal woman in the world!!

This poem is from 1996 and was a metaphorical moment of anticipation of change that was challenging and did turn out to be transformational. 

It took a long time for me to get good at honoring that inner voice that tells me when something is not right. I am so grateful to be much better at listening!

I am so blessed to live in an extremely beautiful place and, as Spring takes hold, there is standing invitation to go outside!

I wrote this poem last spring but it is based on a lot of years of experience! 

Poems really can capture a moment. I remember this sensation of laughing and crying at the same time back in 1999 and it is still relevant today. What a funny things emotions are. 

I wrote this poem at the beginning of March 2020, just as the whole Covid thing was ramping up. I didn't realize it would be such a good time to be leaning into gentleness!

This poem from 2008 describes a moment of being full of love but feeling super shy about it. 

I wrote this poem today - while I was thinking of my cousin Mandy and our family and summers at the Slocan River. Happy Birthday Mandy!! (April 6)
