POEM #41 FOR POEM A DAY FOR 2020

Dare I say that this was certainly a hot moment of attraction. Yummy : )

This poem is about a different kind of fire than the sweet kind of yesterdays poem. All part of the relationship learning curve. 

Sometimes rain is the very best lullaby!! Especially for this potentially obsessive poet. 

Waiting can accidentally become a way of life. I appreciate that question - is there another way?

Happy Valentine's Day :) This poem is from my early days of motherhood and, let me tell you, that is an extremely pure kind of love!

This poem came out of a profound sense of discouragement during a long relationship. 

In the spirit of the recent Academy Awards, here is a fun poke at an acceptance speech!

I have noticed that it never really works to suppress things. I only end up swearing!

This poem is a bit of humour to help deal with frustration, dare I say fury. 

Note: This is the first poem I haven't posted on time. My dear friend, Maynard, was at the end of his life and I was blessed to be there with family and loved ones to see him off. 

I find these poems from 1999 use language differently than my recent poems. It is good to remember this more lyrical way of using words. This poem describes actual dreams I have had of water in various forms - I often dream of water during times of change. And, of course, this poem seemed perfect for this green border!

Self love can be difficult to learn and this poem is a celebration of the baby steps and small but important moments towards good self care. 

I discovered this poem from 1996. I wonder what had made me so full of joy? I can't remember the specifics but, thanks to the poem, I can remember the feeling. 

There are times when I wonder how many lifetimes I have been relating to the same man. Does the same love affair, the same heartbreak happen over and over? Will we ever make it to our happy ending?

I was in a dreamy mood, contemplating recovery from a broken heart, when I wrote this poem.

And then there are the days when I just can't get out of my head!!

Poetry is often about the essence of something I am feeling or living through. And, as this poem says, the result of a deep soul search can be the emergence of a poem.  Gratefully, this has a healing effect on me.

As this poem describes, it can be hard to let go of strong feelings for someone in either direction. How to reach neutral can be the real question!

Well, what can I say? I learned this one the hard way! Ack!
